The waterpark was smaller and less exciting than we anticipated. We definitely had fun, but we would not recommend it for kids their age. I took my daughters (ages 8 & 10) to Great Wolf Lodge for 2 nights in between school and camp. The Wilderness Resort includes the waterpark passes, as well as dry activities for guests of all ages. The cost is about the same as The Great Wolf Lodge. We will be staying at the Wilderness Resort from now on. We had an ordinary hotel stay, which we could of had for cheaper at a different hotel. Overall, the price we paid for this room, even with the flash deal was not worth it. (This included character appearances, etc.). They gave out a schedule of times that events that took place at certain times of the day. We also liked how they also had the bedtime stories played on the television set on the Great Wolf Lodge Resort channel. There was also an arcade, Scoops Spa for kids, and MagiQuest (for an extra fee). Some good amenities for the kids included story time, the clock show, and face painting for the kids. This was annoying since the hotel did not let guests check in until 4pm to supposedly clean the room and get it ready. I had to clean the tub myself before my child could take a bath. I was horrified to find that the hotel bathtub was stained light black, and there were brown spots of mold on the edges of the non skid pad that was attached to the bottom of the tub. ![]() After spending a day at Noah's Ark, I was going to give my child a bath. ![]() The room felt humid, even though the air conditioner was on high. Upon arrival to the room, there was a musty odor. We found that they had put us on the first floor. We left the resort and went to Noah's Ark (which was cheaper) until they text us that our room was ready. I had to ask a different person at the front desk to receive them. (Every kid is supposed to receive wolf ears when checking in). Another disappointment was that my son did not receive his wolf ears upon check in. ![]() The cub pass included special activities such as making a T-shirt, etc. They asked us if we would like to purchase a cub pass which was another 44 dollars per child. We asked how much it would be to upgrade to the waterpark. My family felt left out due to this situation. It was then that the front desk notified us about the waterpark status. We arrived early the next day at the hotel. When we found out that we were going to the Great Wolf Lodge, we were so excited. You only know what the hotel and details are after the non refundable price of the hotel is paid). You also don't know the details of the package that you are purchasing. (When booking a fast deal, you don't know which hotel you will be staying at. We were not aware that waterpark passes were not included with the deal that we had received. I really wanted to like this resort however. We booked a spur of the moment last minute fast deal with priceline. This was our first time at Great Wolf Lodge. Again we did not stay here but might consider it if we come back to the Dells again. I liked you don't need a parking pass to park in their parking lot and there are shopping and things to do within walking distance from this resort. I don't know how peaceful the nights would be here if you had a room facing the road. A bit disappointed at the size of the water park (from what I could see, standing in the lobby area, it seemed small). I was disappointed that the lobby show wasn't until 8pm (aren't most kids who would appreciate the show in bed by then?) I was surprised with how small the balconies were at this resort, (half the size of the ones in Grapevine TX and the a Wilderness). I also liked that the staff members and characters, (Violet and the other one I can't remember), were extremely patient with my shy, but curious children. We enjoyed talking to them and bought a bunch of stuff, (we bought nothing from the Wilderness resort). We walked over to the gift shop and the men working the gift shop were kind and made lots of appropriate jokes. ![]() We were disappointed in the menu selection and the brown haired waitress seemed inconvenienced having to serve us during a slower time of the day. We didn't stay at this resort - only went there for a meal hoping it had healthy options like the one in Texas does.
